Picking the right diet
Picking the right diet is not an easy task. There are so many different options for those seeking to lose weight that it can be confusing trying to sort it all out. I have tried a few different diets, from my own efforts to track my calorie intake to Weight Watchers, even the South Beach Diet.
Weight Watchers has thus far given the best result. I had found a set of the books in a second hand store and followed the Points system, which resulted in a total loss of about 20 pounds. I have since managed to keep that weight off.
The South Beach Diet has the benefit of reducing belly weight first, with the diet plan being designed by a doctor. A lot of what I read when I read the South Beach Diet book made sense to me.
The Atkins diet is one that I doubt I will ever try, since it is not very good for the heart and my family has a history of heart disease that I don’t want to tempt by eating things I know are bad for the heart.
The first step in picking a diet plan you can stick with is to find one that you can stick with, something that you will be able to easily get food for and that you can at times slip up and still be on track. That is one of the things I like about the Weiught Watchers plan, you can eat anything and stay on the diet plan, Neutrasystem has always seemed a bit hard to stick with to me, since they send you most of your food for the diet.
Slim Fast has proven to be best used as a way to maintain my current weight, since I have never seen significant weight loss when I have used the Slim Fast plan.
I would love to hear your experiences and comments on the different diet plans.
